1927 Great Grandpa Malo left Sacred Heart,

1933 Grandma Alice was born to Malo and Marie,

1935 Marie died and the priest took Alice

From the Sahtu to Sacred Heart

In Fort Providence far from her father

Second generation in the same school

She stayed from two until she left

She never returned to her people

Labelled the orphan.

Birthed eight children.

Some of those children went to:

Residential Schools,

Day Schools,

Group Homes,

Had grandchildren taken to foster care.

Only reason was that they were Native.

She survived. She still lives today.

Her legacy lives in her children,

grandchildren, great grandchildren

and great great grandchildren.

Over 30 lives now.
